يتناول هذا البحث واحدة من مدارس الاستشراق المتعددة, وهي « المدرسة الاستشراقية الفرنسية» ولقد عرَّفتُ من خلال هذا البحث بتلک المدرسة, وذکرت تاريخها وما هي الإرهاصات الأولى لظهور تلک المدرسة, ثم نضوجها کمدرسة استشراقية حتى وقتنا الحاضر وما هي أبرز المزايا التي تميزها عن مدارس الاستشراق الأخرى, و أبرز أعلام هذه المدرسة وعرَّفتُ بهم, وبينت جهود هؤلاء المستشرقين غي خدمة التراث الإسلامي من خلال أعمالهم التي قاموا بها من ترجمة, وتحقيق ونشر, وجمع للمخطوطات وفهرستها, والتأليف في مواضيع تخص المشرق الإسلامي, والقيام برحلات إلى بلدان المشرق الإسلامي لإتقان لغاته, ومحاولة فهمه ودراسته على أرض الواقع, وختمت بخاتمة ذکرت فيها أبرز نتائج هذا البحث وأهم التوصيات التي أوصى بها الباحث

Abstract:
This research deals with one of the many schools of Orientalism, which is the “French Oriental School.” The researcher defines that school, and shows its history and the first indications for the emergence of that school.Moreover,  the research presents its maturity as an Orientalist school until the present time, and the most prominent advantages that distinguish it from the other schools of Orientalism. This research also introduces the most prominent figures of this school and their efforts to serve the Islamic heritage through the works that they carried out. Their works include: translation, investigation, publication, and collecting and indexing manuscripts. They also published topics related to the Islamic East and made trips to islamic countries to master their languages and to understand and study them on the ground . The conclusion of this research includes the most prominent results and the recommendations of the researcher.
