يرى ابن عدي أن لإقلال الراوي من الرواية أثراً واضحاً على الحكم عليه جرحاً أو تعديلاً؛ ففي حين يشفع لبعض الرواة قلةُ روايتهم، نجد أن ابن عدي يُسبّب جرح بعضهم بقلة مروياتهم، كما نجد أنه يتوقف عن الحكم على آخرين لذات السبب وهو: قلة روايتهم.
ولهذا نشأت مشكلة البحث؛ للإجابة عن سؤال البحث، وهو: ما مدى أثر قلة الرواية في الحكم على الراوي عند ابن عدي؟
 والباحث قد بذل الوسع في الإجابة عن هذا السؤال بعد استقراء كتاب " الكامل في ضعفاء الرجال" لابن عدي، وحصَر المواضعَ التي هي موضع الدراسة، وحاول الوصول إلى نظرة ابن عدي في قليل الرواية، من خلال التوفيق بين النصوص المؤدي إلى فهم منهجه، مع تسليط الضوء على منهجية ابن عدي في الحكم على الرجال كأحد أهمّ روّاد منهجية النقد من خلال سبر المرويات ومقارنتها بمرويات الأقران.
 Research Summary:
Ibn Adye sees that narrator’s limitation in Hadiths has a clear affect to his judging in respect of Invalidating and Validating. When some narrators are limited in Hadith Narration, we see that Ibn Adye cause to Invalidate some, arguing by limitation of Hadiths Narrated by them, on one hand, but he seizes to gudge others for the same reason, on the other hand.
That is why the problem of research emerged to respond to the research question, namely, what is the extent of Narrating Limitation effect to judge the narrator according to Ibn Adye?
The researcher made incomparable effort to answer this question after reflecting the book “The Complete in Weak Hadith Narrators” of Ibn Adye, limited the positions subject to study, attempted to reach Ibn Adye’s point of view towards Limited in Hadith Narration by balancing texts leading to understanding his methodology. Highlighting the methodology of Ibn Adye in judging men as one of the most important leaders of this criticism methodology through probing the narratives and comparing them with the peer narratives.
The researcher concluded that Hadiths Narrating Limitation has a clear affect to Narrator’s Invalidation same as Narrator’s Validation, based on the evidences and conditions confirming the same
